“Let God Be God”

I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me. I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say, ‘My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.’ –Isaiah 46:9-10

I love how she writes this devotional. It is so true how often we forget that God is in control. But I can honestly say that I’m truly struggling right now – at this point in my life – to think of something that I’m not trusting God with…

We are in the middle of selling our home and planning to build a new one, and you would think that I’d be an anxiety-driven wreck right now. But I’m not. I just know that You got this, Lord. Your will be done. I’m of course anxious and excited, but mainly just waiting for Your plan to unfold and begin our new journey. I am a little nervous about money right now because I’ve been so “lazy” about answering clients lately, however, I trust in You. I feel like You’re teaching me something during this time and forcing me to scale back a bit. I’ve been praying for ways to donate my time and be less selfish and I do slowly feel You leading me there. So thank you, Lord! Thank you very much!

Father, I need Your grace. I know that I don’t always parent the best way. I need Your wisdom, Your grace, and Your power. Remind me that even when I feel like I’m failing that You are faithful to accomplish all of Your purposes. Give me hope and joy today as I serve & trust You everyday. In Jesus’ name, Amen. —the better mom devotional p.2
